New Album Projects

As many of you know, the music I create for the video soundtracks is truly the reason I create the videos on this site in the first place. I had always reckoned that the only way to get people to listen to my music was to show pictorial content with it.

It seems the time has come to let the music stand on its own. So… may I present the first two projects, Soundtracks – Volumes 1 & 2.

The two photos (above) contain links to my HearNow pages. Music may be auditioned there, and the sites include links to all the partner sites that are selling/streaming my stuff. so... this is a good place to start.

My music seems to defy categorization - I suppose I wouldn’t want it any other way. But interestingly, as I was doing all the store/distribution stuff with CD Baby and their partners, one of the first things they asked was how to categorize it. There was no “Soundtrack” or “Other” category, so I was dumbfounded. I found myself picking “New Age” and “Easy Listening” and cringing at the same time. But it's my own damned fault (three fingers pointing back, right?). Anyway, all of my music passions are represented in some way on these CDs. Classical, rock, folk, jazz – even bluegrass. It’s all in there somewhere.

Volume 1 is definitely more ethereal – the beats are looser, and there is less “band” music. Volume 2 has “more cowbell”; it is mostly "song-oriented" and as the track list was coming together, I realized how much banjo was included. Yeehaw.

Both volumes are available as physical copies. Locally, They are currently in Out on a Limb, Big Foot Coffee, North Bank Books, and the Interpretive Center's gift shop (all $10). Or you can email me and I’ll snail mail one to you. Additionally, they are in all the major online retailers: CDBaby & Amazon have digital and physical product and iTunes has digital only. The releases are also available on the streaming sites: Spotify, Pandora (soon), etc. Again, the links in the photos above will get you started.

Both releases are also on Bandcamp if you’d rather (and you can audition the entire track). Here are the links to Bandcamp: Volume 1 or Volume 2. And, for what it's worth, Volume 1 is also on Soundcloud.

And finally, if you do enjoy the music, please share your thoughts via comments on either of the Facebook pages (mine or Shippy Hollow), Amazon, CDBaby or other appropriate places. Besides being nice for me to hear, kind words will help to encourage folks to engage that otherwise might not. I understand that’s a good thing…

Whew.
